Beef Rub

July 5 2021

So most people look at me like I am the weirdest person in the world because I don't eat Pork. Its not that I don't eat any pork I just prefer to only eat peameal bacon and just bacon, but honestly if Turkey bacon was an option I would choose it first. Everyone I know eats pork. I was born and raised on a farm and there was no way I was going to eat my favorite farm animal. I love pigs just not on my dinner plate. If you watched the last season of The Handmaid's Tale where the wife yells at Janet to eat the meat from the pig she took care of well I would have probably thrown at her. I just refused no way I can't do it. Plus I can't get pass the smell of the ham not even when it cooks makes me gag. Holiday dinners for our family has to have ham and turkey feel sorry for my mom because she has one daughter who wont eat Pork and one that won't eat Turkey.

When we would go to restaurants and they would order pulled pork sandwiches and the sandwiches would look good but no way couldn't do it. So I decided to create my own spice rub for pulled beef sandwiches. So I always use my slow cooker for my pulled beef. I use a beef roast and I take my dry rub and I rub it all over the roast and let it marinate in the fridge for either a couple of hours or overnight. Then I place it in the slow cooker with my favorite BBQ sauce and I look it on low for 6-8 hours. you could do it on high for half the time but I have always done low and slow.
